Working of Wafer Type Butterfly Valve

The valve’s disc rotates on a central shaft within the wafer-type body to control flow. In the open position, the disc aligns with the pipe bore, allowing smooth, low-resistance flow. To close, the disc rotates a quarter-turn, sealing firmly against the replaceable seat to block flow completely. Since the valve is sandwiched between pipeline flanges using through-bolts, it stays securely positioned while remaining easy to install or remove for maintenance.
