Working of Spherical Disc Butterfly Valve

The spherically-shaped disc rotates within the valve’s wafer-type body to control flow. In the open position, the disc aligns with the flow path for minimal resistance. To close, the disc rotates a quarter-turn, and its curved profile presses evenly against the seat, ensuring a tighter, more consistent seal than flat-disc designs. Operation can be manual via lever or gear, or automated using a pneumatic or electric actuator.
