Working of Uni Directional Knife Edge Gate Valve

The knife-edge gate moves vertically within the valve body to control flow in a single direction. When open, the gate retracts fully, allowing unrestricted passage of slurry or solid-laden media. To close, the sharp gate lowers through the flow path, cutting through solids or fibrous material as it descends, then seats firmly — either metal-to-metal or against a soft seat — for a tight shut-off. Operation can be manual via a handwheel or automated via pneumatic or bevel-gear actuation.
