What is an Inverted Bucket Type Steam Trap?

An Inverted Bucket Type Steam Trap is a mechanical steam trap that uses buoyancy to distinguish between steam and condensate, ensuring consistent discharge of condensate without allowing live steam to escape. Manufactured from high-quality cast iron with a paint-coated finish, it’s built with a standard 50mm size and screwed end connection, suitable for a wide range of steam applications. • Long service life reduces maintenance and replacement costs

Working of Inverted Bucket Type Steam Trap

Condensate and steam enter the trap body, where an inverted bucket floats in the fluid. When condensate fills the space around the bucket, the bucket sinks due to lack of buoyancy, opening the discharge valve to release the condensate. When steam enters, it collects inside the inverted bucket, causing it to float upward and close the discharge valve, preventing live steam from escaping. This cycle repeats automatically, ensuring continuous condensate removal without steam loss.
