Working of Double Flange Butterfly Valve

The valve’s disc rotates within the flanged body to control flow. In the open position, the disc aligns with the flow path for minimal resistance. To close, the disc rotates a quarter-turn, sealing against the replaceable seat to block flow. This rotation can be driven manually via a lever or gear, or be automated using a pneumatic or electric actuator — with center- or offset-disc geometry chosen based on sealing and torque requirements.
