A Cast Steel Y Type Strainer is a Y-shaped pipeline filtration device designed to remove debris, scale, and particulate matter from process fluid using an angled screen chamber, protecting downstream equipment from damage. Built with body and cover in ASTM A216 Gr. WCB, CI IS 210 Gr. FG 220, or Forged CS A105, with a SS 304 or SS 316 screen, manufactured to Allied’s own stringent standards. Working of Cast Steel Y Type Strainer

Process fluid enters the strainer through the angled inlet and passes through the perforated or mesh screen housed inside the Y-shaped chamber. As fluid flows through, solid particles and debris are captured on the screen surface, while clean, filtered fluid continues downstream through the outlet. The angled body design minimizes pressure drop compared to straight-through designs, and the screen can be periodically removed and cleaned by opening the end cap.
