Working of Metallic Foot Valve Flanged End

The foot valve is installed at the submerged end of a pump suction pipe, with its strainer net filtering out debris before water enters the line. As the pump draws water, the internal valve disc lifts open, allowing water to flow up through the suction pipe. When the pump stops, the disc closes under gravity and backpressure, sealing against the seat to prevent water from draining back, keeping the suction line primed and ready for the next start.
